Foot-longs and Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta

For a moment, let's ignore the debate of promotional tie-ins into non-related companies, and how product placement has nestled a place in video games.  What if I told you you can not only play Uncharted 3 multiplayer online, but you're able to transfer all your accumulated stats over to the game once it's released?  Cool, right?

So now, here's the catch - you'll need to get a 30-oz drink (with the Uncharted 3 promo code) from Subway to get the beta.

Now wait, before you get all in a huff about why Subway is fucking with Uncharted 3 and giving it in-game shirt and hat babies, or why they have a Subway-specific five-dollar-footlong taunt unlockable, consider this - you're getting early access to a beta AND you get to keep your stats.  This is even better than the Beta released earlier when InFamous 2 came out!  Back then, only InFamous 2 buyers and PlayStation Plus members got to play it for a month, while others played it for 2 weeks.  And those stats back then got wiped out.

For a simple Subway lunch, you get a full month of online mulitplayer madness before the core game comes out AND you get to keep your stats.  That, my friend, is not too shabby.

Of course, if you don't want to be branded from the start, I suggest customizing your character and removing the subway T-shirt and other branding before starting the game.  Other than that, it's a month of early access!  You really can't argue with this...unless you have your morales on cross-promotion in games.

One more thing...if anyone knows how to mute in the Beta, let me know.  So far, all I've been hearing are other people's Subway lunches.
